Independence Day Party, Expanded Weekend Hours & Sensory Swim

Independence Day Party, Expanded Weekend Hours & Sensory Swim

As we head into the holiday weekend, we have some exciting announcements to share with the membership.

First, KGRC’s annual Independence Day celebration will return this Sunday, July 4th.  The party will begin at noon and go until 3, with games beginning at 12:30!  We are especially looking forward to bringing back raft races and the cannonball contest!!  Contest winners will receive a ticket for one free Snack Shack item.  All children will receive a ticket at check in for a popsicle treat at the Snack Shack, and cotton candy is BACK!  After the party ends the pool will remain open until 9:00.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone this 4th of July!  Please remember that KGRC tends to reach capacity on the 4th.  So, plan to arrive with your full group, with membership cards in hand, and please be patient if asked to wait to be admitted.

Second, we are expanding KGRC’s weekend hours.  Starting this Sunday, July 4th, the pool will open each Sunday at 10:00 a.m.  So, come early and stay for lunch. (The grills are open!) The Snack Shack will continue to open at 11:30am.

And, starting next Saturday, July 10th, we will once again be offering Sensory Swim each Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  For our newer members, Sensory Swim is reserved for members needing a sensory-friendly, quieter time in the pool. A parent or guardian must accompany any children participating in this program.  And while immediate family members are welcome to join in the fun, other KGRC members and guests are not included in this specific program.

Our weekday hours will remain 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., subject to change for occasional swim and dive team events, including our last Swim home “A” meet of the season this Saturday, July 3.  (The pool will open at noon, after the meet.)  Check the website for schedule information, including a list of early closings/late openings here, and the full calendar of events here.

Finally, speaking of Swim and Dive, congratulations to both teams, who are having tons of Dolphin fun and getting right back into the swing of NVSL competition.  Both Swim and Dive have won their first two meets of the season! Go Dolphins!!

See you at the pool!
