2021 Annual General Meeting

2021 Annual General Meeting

Please join us on Wednesday, January 27th at 7 p.m. for the Kent Gardens Recreation Club Annual General Meeting. The Board will discuss plans for 2021 and beyond, and active, voting members will vote on an update to the Club bylaws and a slate of candidates for the Board of Directors. The Board will also report on the Club's finances and facilities.

In light of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting will be virtual, on Zoom meeting platform. For security purposes, advance registration is required and we invite active members to REGISTER HERE for the meeting. Please note that a Zoom account is not required to participate; the registration form will ask only for your name and email address.

As noted above, we will be voting on candidates to fill four two-year positions on the Board of Directors. We are incredibly grateful to outgoing Board Members Curtis Coates and Jake Radcliff for their many combined years of devoted service to the Club. We look forward to continuing to see them and their families around the Club for many seasons to come! We are fortunate that both Meghan Thomas, President, and Chris Wood, Treasurer, will return for another term on the Board. Will Shields was appointed by the Board this summer for the remainder of Curtis' term, and we are lucky that Caryn Margita has agreed to join the Board as well. This year's slate is as follows:

  • Meghan Thomas
  • Chris Wood
  • Caryn Margita
  • Will Shields

The following Board Members are completing the second year of their terms and are not up for election this year:

  • Lauren Braccia
  • Holly Cafer
  • Jim Davis
  • Kara Horgan
  • Bethany Nguyen
  • Sarah Salerno
  • Claudia Tielking

In addition, we will be asking active, voting members to approve the Board's proposed amendment to the KGRC Bylaws. The current bylaws can be found HERE on the KGRC website. The amendment will add a new Section 7 to Article VIII, as follows:

  • Section 7. Fees, including but not limited to annual fees, initiation fees, inactive fees, capital improvement fund contributions, and other fees paid attendant to various types of membership and membership privileges, are not refundable.

The new section is intended to assure that the Club continues to have the substantial resources necessary to maintain and plan for the maintenance of the Club facilities for the benefit of the membership.

The Board is looking forward to an engaging and productive AGM and we hope to see you there!

We look forward to seeing you on Zoom!
